AWS hosted event

This section only applies if you are participating in an AWS guided event. Click here for instructions on running the workshop outside an AWS event.

Joining the event

Open the Workshop Studio event dashboard .
Choose your preferred sign-in method. For AWS guided events, choose AWS Builder ID. You will be redirected to Create AWS Builder ID page.

Sign-in to Workshop Studio

Sign in using a AWS Builder ID.

If you don't have an AWS Builder ID, enter your email address and choose Next. Follow the instructions to create a Builder ID.
If you have a Builder ID, choose Already have AWS Builder ID? Sign in to sign in with your existing ID.

Enter the event access code shared by the organizer and choose Next.
Read and agree to the Terms and Conditions by selecting I agree with the terms and conditions.
Choose Join Event.

Accessing code-editor

As part of the pre-configured development environment, we have deployed code-editor , hosted on an Amazon EC2 instance.

Open the landing page of the workshop in a new tab by using the context menu, Open Link in New Tab when selecting the title at the top of the navigation bar.

On the landing page, navigate to the Event Outputs pane at the bottom of the page.

Select the URL. Code-editor will open in a new browser tab.

Using Kiro on the command line

A number of programming languages are pre-installed on the IDE.

Note

If Kiro on the command line detects missing software, it will ask for your approval before installing the software and proceeding.

Event information

During the event

Follow the steps in the workshop guide using your own or a Workshop Studio provided AWS account.

Workshop Studio provided AWS accounts

You may be provided with a pre-provisioned AWS account for use during the event. The IAM role that we have provided has limited permissions, which will restrict you to the services and API calls required for the event. These accounts are temporary and access will be revoked after the session, at which time all resources will be deleted.

Ways to access your Workshop Studio provided account

There are a couple ways to access the provided AWS account.

Federated login link: A one-click login to the AWS console. Use the Open AWS console link under the main side navigation AWS account access section.
AWS CLI credentials: Shell environment variables needed to make API calls using the AWS CLI. Use the Get AWS CLI credentials link under the main side navigation AWS account access section.
EC2 SSH key: SSH key pair required to access an Amazon EC2 instance provisioned for the event. Use the Get EC2 SSH key link under the main side navigation AWS account access section.
